Dear Pine Grove Middle School Families,
Every three years, our Pine Grove Middle School PTSA Bylaws must be reviewed and (re)adopted by the General Membership. This is one of those years. After careful consideration, the Bylaws Committee makes the following recommendations of changes to the PGMS PTSA bylaws.
PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE PGMS PTSA BYLAWS:
- Minor word changes throughout to accommodate changes mandated by the state and national PTA organizations & a state membership dues increase of $.25 for 2014-2015 and another $.25 for 2015-2016
- Changes to PGMS PTSA Officers:
- Change the title Corresponding Secretary to Communications Secretary
- The Communications Secretary will have the following responsibilities:
- Sort and distribute incoming correspondence and report to the Board of Directors correspondence requiring board action
- Purchase and distribute cards for special occasions to faculty, staff and others at the board’s discretion
- Communicate PTSA news and announcements to the membership and maintain a current membership email contact list
- Perform other such duties as may be prescribed in these bylaws or assigned by this local PTA/PTSA or by the board of directors.
Per our bylaws, at least thirty (30) days’ notice of the proposed changes must be given to the General Membership, and this flyer serves as that notice.
The first General Membership Meeting of the school year will be held before the 7th & 8th Grade Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 10 at 5:30 PM. At this meeting, we will vote on the proposed Bylaws and on the 2014-2015 Budget. Everyone is welcome, but only PGMS PTSA members may vote. It is never too early (or too late) to become a member!
