PINE
GROVE MIDDLE SCHOOL
OUR
VISION
BELIEFS
AND EXPECTATIONS
We
believe in the mission statement of the school. Enjoy the challenge of becoming the best we can be.
Understand that decisions will always reflect what is in the best
interest of our students.
We
believe in recognizing and promoting the specific strengths of all students.
We
believe that managing by results and diagnostic instruction, while maintaining
the quality of instruction on a daily basis, will result in improved academic
instruction for all students.
We
believe and help implement the National Middle School Association's position
that "the overall climate of the school is itself a 'teacher'."
A true middle school will evidence warmth, caring, and respect.
This needed positive attitude is not possible if it is not rooted in a
sense of harmony and togetherness on the part of the professional staff.
Instruction
(Student Achievement)
WE
ENVISION A SCHOOL WHERE:
Differentiated
instruction and regrouping of students during lessons will be essential key
strategies. Lessons will be child
centered, meaningful, motivating, and will reflect current strategies, which
promote student interaction, thinking, problem solving, and learning by doing.
We will look for interdisciplinary instructional opportunities that are
natural and appropriate for middle school youngsters.
Effective teachers create a climate for success.
Positive
and Safe School Climate
WE
ENVISION A SCHOOL WHERE:
Understand that teachers are keys to effective school wide discipline. Consistent standards of discipline, applicable to all students, will be maintained. However, understand that different approaches can and should be used. We will promote responsible behavior through wisdom, not power. Emphasis will be placed on building relationships with students based on respect, understanding and trust.
